A great civilization’s fate lay in Dick Barrow’s hands as he led his courageous fellow engineers into a strange and unknown land. Extremely interesting at the start, but then, at least for me, it petered out. 2 1/2 rounded up to 3.

Pretty good little story, not very technical but you get the idea. I really liked the readers too, good job.

The narration was rather fun on this one. I enjoyed the story. A good one for a short trip.

This was really well done. I particularly enjoyed the mix of different readers' voices within the same chapter, a choice which made understanding dialogs
...
quite easier than usual and certainly far more entertaining. The story itself is not bad at all as the mysterious, fast-paced beginning is greatly enticing and quite teasing for the reader. Sadly enough the same can't be said about the rushed, shallow ending. Main characters have a want of characterization among them, while all the others minor characters remain barely shaped. The overall feeling of the story is good though.
The only regret on the reading style is the dull chanting of the last chapter where a precise cadence pattern seems to take hold of the reader voice. Each sentence of the last chapter is stubbornly chanted in the very same way, no need to tell how much that can be annoying for the listener.
This audiobook would deserve 5 stars if it weren't for that nuisance at the end.
